Q-SUN filter
The Q-SUN xenon lamp aging chamber series uses xenon arc tubes to reproduce the most realistic full spectrum of sunlight, including ultraviolet, visible, and infrared rays. For many materials, full spectrum exposure is necessary to provide accurate simulations, especially when conducting color change and sun fastness tests. However, xenon lamp light must undergo appropriate filtering to obtain the desired spectrum for each specific application. Spectral differences may affect the speed and type of aging.
Xenon lamps must undergo appropriate filtering to obtain suitable spectra for each specific application. Spectral differences may affect the speed and type of aging. Three types of filters can simulate various service environments. The application or testing method determines which filter should be used. Here are some useful part numbers. Refer to the Q-SUN Xenon Lamp Aging Test Chamber page and filter label for more detailed information.

QUV filter
Unlike the q-lab xenon lamp aging test chamber, the QUV ultraviolet aging test chamber does not require the use of any filters.
Ultraviolet radiation can cause photodegradation of almost all durable materials exposed outdoors. QUVUV aging test chamberThe fluorescent tube can simulate the critical short wave ultraviolet spectrum and reproduce the changes in material and cooking properties caused by sunlight. Several different types of ultraviolet lamps can be suitable for different applications without the need for filters.
